Welcome to Portobello Day Care Nursery

Portobello Day Care Nursery is a small nursery that cares for ten children aged 2 – 5 years at one time. Our ethos is based on our belief that all children deserve the best start in life. Our aim is to provide a safe, caring, stimulating environment that embraces the child’s individual needs.

We celebrate diversity and welcome cultures from around the world. We offer a learning environment that will equip your child with the skills needed to continue through the education system. We are registered and inspected by Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education). We work to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and use play based activities that encourage each child to reach their full potential at a pace that reflects their learning style.

Our Nursery

Portobello nursery is a small high quality nursery that allows children to enjoy the benefits of a cosy welcoming environment, whilst still experiencing a stimulating early education experience. If you would prefer a more homely atmosphere for your child than that offered by a large nursery, then Portobello is an excellent daycare option for you. We offer places to children who are Government funded and paying children.

Our Team

The quality of our team is our nursery’s pride and joy. To ensure we have the best staff, we train them ourselves to the highest standard. Every staff member is qualified well beyond the basic minimum required by Ofsted and the EYFS and we undertake ongoing training to keep everyone up-to-date with new developments in early education.

Our Curriculum

We offer excellent learning opportunities for children in the context of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). This includes indoor and outdoor learning and trips to broaden your child’s horizon. The learning programme is bespoke for each child and we welcome parental input to the development of an individual plan that will best suit your child’s interests and needs.

We are located in Acklam Road, near to Ladbroke Grove and Portobello Road, London W10. We care for 10 children aged 2-5, and we are open 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday. We offer funded childcare. We celebrate diversity and welcome cultures from around the world.

Funded Childcare

Currently, all parents of three- and four-year-old children are entitled to a universal offer of 15 hours’ funded childcare per week, an offer also extended to the most disadvantaged two-year-olds. From September 2017, the government introduced a new scheme, known as 30 Hours Childcare, which provides an additional 15 funded hours to working parents of three- and four-year-olds. Some parents could therefore be eligible for up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week.
